Court Date and Time
Municipal Court is conducted every 2nd Monday at 6 p.m. Municipal Courts email address is adairsct@bellsouth.net.
Jurisdiction
The jurisdiction of the Municipal Court extends to misdemeanor violations within the corporate limits of the City of Adairsville.
- All misdemeanor traffic violations set forth in Title 40 of OCGA that are committed within the corporate limits of City of Adairsville.
- All misdemeanor city ordinance violations committed within the corporate limits of the City of Adairsville.
- Misdemeanor violations of the following laws of the State of Georgia:
- Shoplifting
- Underage possession of alcohol
- Furnishing alcohol to underage persons
- Public intoxication
- Disorderly conduct
- Violation of Georgia Controlled Substances Act (possession of less than one ounce of marijuana)
- Violations of probated sentences by subjects sentenced to probation by this court.
Court Appearances
If you do not post a cash bond prior to your court date, you must appear in court. Court begins promptly at 6:00 p.m.
Dress Code for court is casual but no hats, shorts, tee shirts, or tank tops will be acceptable. Cases involving juveniles (those persons 16 and under will be transferred to Juvenile Court.
The Department of Juvenile Justice (770) 387-5039 will contact offenders and their parents of their court date.
Paying a Fine
If you do not wish to appear in court you must pay your citation before your court date. Payments maybe made Monday - Thursday between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. at the Adairsville Municipal Court or 24 hours a day online at www.ticketfastpay.com or by mail. Personal checks not accepted.
Probation Services
The Municipal Court Judge often sentences persons to probation. These persons are monitored by a Probation Officer, who ensures that they make scheduled fine payments and complete counseling or other conditions by the Judge.
